Wine and extra virgin olive oil

The farm includes about 31 hectares of land, between 17 hectares of forest and 16 hectares of productive land, of which 3.5 hectares of vineyards and 7 of olive groves. Sangiovese and Vermentino are our main varieties together along with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

All our organic products can be purchased in the shop of our farm.

Wines and Grappa

Our vineyards lie in Valdarno Superiore, an area of rich tradition. The southern slopes overlooking the Arno valley produce three wines, benefitting from the sandy loam soils. Our winemaking is as natural as possible, using wild yeasts, soft pressing and we prefer big oak vats or older barrels in order to bottle wines that are a true expression of the variety in our area. Since 2004 we also have produced a Grappa, distilled by a traditional Tuscan distillery from our own grapes; it is a long standing favourite.

Senzamare

IGT Toscana Vermentino

At Casanuova we don’t have the sea, though we have Vermentino, a typical varietal from the coast. The result of this combination is Senzamare IGT Toscana Vermentino, vinified in stainless steel from indigenous yeasts and a few months in contact with its lees.

Guardabuoi

IGT Toscana Rosato

A rosé with the delicate color of the Guardabuoi heron. Obtained from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot vinified in white, it is a rosé that winks at Provence for cleanliness, color and brilliance. Immediate and inviting, it opens on notes of dog rose, small red fruits and face powder.

Altoreggi

IGT Toscana Rosso

Altoreggi IGT, is a pure Sangiovese obtained from our best grapes, vinified in the most natural way, aged for a year in oak vats and one more in the bottle. It aims to be full expression of Sangiovese of our area.

Rosso Casanuova

IGT Toscana

Il Rosso della casa, our house red, a versatile wine with Tuscan joviality. Matter and freshness alternate in this blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, where the varietal notes are flanked by a fruit in evidence and a blood note that broadens the olfactory horizons.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Our organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is obtained exclusively from olives from our olive groves where the typical varieties of our area grow: Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo and Pendolino. The olives are processed within 24 hours after being harvested through mechanical processes only. Ours is a medium fruity oil, slightly bitter and spicy with notes of fresh grass and artichoke.
